The big question I had before I purchased the Tineco wet dry vacuum was, is it worth the money? The answer is YES. Yes, it is. I had a hard time accepting the price at over $399, but I wish I’d purchased it sooner, honestly. It saves me time, don’t have to (while you should) clean it manually every use and my floors look and feel clean.
First and foremost, why spend so much on a wet mop? The biggest reason is the amount of time it saves. It used to take me 30 minutes to vacuum and then mop the floors, roughly 500 sf of hardwood floor. Now it takes 12 minutes from start to finish. While that doesn’t seem like a large amount of time, 12 minutes every night for a week really adds up (a little over 109 hours a year I’m saving).

What exactly does a wet dry vacuum do?
A wet dry vacuum, vacuums and mop at the same time. I have two kids and two dogs, between muddy paws and spilled juice (I would not do dairy spills), we need to vacuum and we need to mop, often. This does both. The Tineco will automatically adjust when it senses a dirty area or a mess. The speed of the brush, the water output and the suction will increase. The mop has a small screen on the top and a nice lady voice who will alert you when the soap water is empty and dirty water tank is full.
The best part of this particular model, it cleans itself! When you are done mopping, you place it in your docking station and click the clean button. While I don’t recommend letting it sit over and over after a self clean, it is great after a late night run.
How long will it last?
With having the Tineco for over a year at this point, it still works like the day we got it. The battery life has not decreased, I’ve purchased 2 replacement heads and I’m on my 2nd large bottle of cleaner. The maintenance cost is not as high as you’d image. I was replacing my mop head once a month with the O Cedar.
What sucks about the Tineco? there must be something!
Yes – there is. There is one thing, it can start to smell. You do need to clean and rinse the brush along with dirty water tank at least once a week. I mean the recommendation is every time you use it, but what is the point of a self cleaning mop if you have to manually clean it?! So I push it to the max. I take apart, rinse it on Sunday and I’m good for the week. But if that is all I have to do, I find it worth it! BUY IT HERE!
